They say an army marches on its stomach. For business, innovation is food – it is always important. Everyday, no matter the economic climate, organizations have to eat. This, then, is a cookery program for your company – the recipe for innovation success.

The CXO channel is business television dedicated to executive development in Human Resources, Innovation, Governance and much more. MeetTheBoss CXO channel offers executive management training through short video interviews with the world’s leading executives.

Human Resources
People – Your business’ greatest asset.
A strong corporate culture is more vital than ever, and human resources executives are busy – not because of the tightness in the global economy, despite it. Your current and future employees have more job choices than ever before, and the good people are very well informed.
On MeetTheBoss business television, HR superstars – some of this business areas most senior executives – offer executive management training and explain why flexible working hours are regularly beating bonus size in the happiness indices. Why we hear less about jobs for life and more about work / life balance. Your culture is your USP – it’s how you define your company for your staff, and it’s part of how they define themselves.
Human resources. Human capital. The people people. Have you said ‘if you want a job done properly, do it yourself’ more than twice this year? HR have the solution. More than a quicksand of red flags, law suits and pointless rules. Done right, HR is a game changer… And MeetTheBoss is where you can find executive development for HR professionals.

Governance
Good corporate governance is more important today than it has ever been.

Money is tight, competition is fierce, and reputations are sorely damaged or lost overnight. Can good governance boost the bottom line? What corporate governance practices do some of the world’s leading companies use to effectively allocate limited resources? How do they manage compliance and risk and stay competitive?
Can good IT security reduce risk and make your company more competitive? Security failures are increasingly headline news – your customers require you to protect their valuable data, and they will go elsewhere if you don’t. So what are the key components of a solid IT security strategy? How can you best manage changing compliance standards and crucial vendor relationships for the security you need?

Find all the answers at MeetTheBoss - business television for executive development.

Innovation
In business it can create new products, revolutionise business processes and models, and make old ones obsolete. Today we compete on service, price or innovation and the expectations and metrics around each are tighter than ever.

J. Andre Teixeira, VP for the Campbell Soup Company, says: “I’ve never met a CEO who doesn’t like innovation.  I’ve never met a mother who doesn’t like to say her child is creative…” The fact is, not all children are, and leaders – unlike mothers – must be realistic.

How? Innovation can be messy and disruptive. It’s hard to switch on at 9 a.m. on a Monday morning. But hard is not impossible (new strap line for Viagra, anyone?). They say surgical skills make a quantum leap in wartime, is our embattled economy having the same effect on innovation leaders?

One big challenge is how to deal with the unknown. Innovation is something that people have grown to believe is beautiful. iPad-shaped and shiny. In reality innovation, in most cases, leads to failure rather than success; and it’s very difficult to manage the expectation of 100 percent success with results, which are seldom the case. Perhaps that’s why many businesses have shifted towards more incremental product and process innovation: innovation that is lower risk, shorter term focused as opposed to the more breakthrough innovation, long-term, higher risk.

Is that a big problem for companies today; that they feel forced to focus on more low-risk innovation? Does it compound the problem by creating an innovation catch-22? And exactly how can you break free like so many great brands have done? What are the proven business culture and process requirements still relevant today?
