In a recent New York Times study, it was estimated that US data centres account for between a quarter and a third of the country’s energy use. More worryingly, the study indicated that those data centres can waste in excess of 90% of the electricity they pull off the grid. So with executives increasingly under pressure to cut costs, conserve resources and do more with less, how can a greater focus on energy management help firms maximise productivity and efficiency?
